DNB Obstetrics & Gynecology
Daya General Hospital offers DNB (Diplomate of National Board) program in Obstetrics & Gynecology, aimed at shaping skilled, confident, and compassionate specialists through real-time clinical exposure, academic guidance, and surgical training.
Our department is led by 4 highly experienced consultants, each with extensive expertise in Gynecologic Laparoscopic Surgery, open procedures, and high-risk obstetric care. Trainees benefit from direct mentorship in advanced surgical techniques and evidence-based management protocols.
Broad Clinical Exposure
DNB trainees are actively involved in a wide range of procedures from early in the program, gaining hands-on experience and building strong clinical judgment across both obstetrics and gynecology.
Obstetrics – Core Training Areas:
- OB Ultrasound
- Normal labor and delivery (with/without episiotomy)
- Local anesthesia, pudendal & paracervical blocks
- Augmentation of labor
- Operative deliveries using forceps or vacuum
- Version and extraction techniques
- Repair of vaginal, cervical, and perineal tears
- Cesarean section including cesarean hysterectomy
- Cervical cerclage for pregnancy support
- Delivery and care in multiple pregnancy cases
- Fetal demise delivery and management
- Placement of arterial and central venous lines for hemodynamic monitoring
Gynecology – Clinical Procedures:
- OPD & ward assistance in gynecological care
- Bartholin cyst/abscess excision or marsupialization
- Dilation and curettage (D&C)
- Abdominal hysterectomy (total/subtotal) with/without BSO
- Myomectomy via laparotomy
- Salpingectomy, salpingo-oophorectomy, oophorectomy, ovarian cyst resection
- Repair procedures for urethrocele, cystocele, and rectocele (colporrhaphy)
- Tubal ligation for permanent sterilization
- Exposure to laparoscopic gynecologic surgeries under senior faculty supervision
